Discovering the Beauty of Lanikai and Kailua Beaches in Hawaii: A Day of Sushi, Sun, and Shaved Ice

Aloha, readers! Today was day two in Hawaii, and it was an absolute blast. We kicked off the day by renting a car at Enterprise at Waikiki Discovery Bay. Not only did we get an incredible deal, but we also had the best hand rolls we've ever had for only eight bucks! Sushi for breakfast? Yes, please!

After fueling up on deliciousness, we made our way to Lanikai and Kailua beaches. And let me tell you, folks, these beaches are the epitome of paradise. With crystal clear waters and soft white sand, it's easy to see why these spots have become so popular. But be warned, there is a bit of construction around Kailua, so it might take you a little bit longer to get there. Don't worry though, it's well worth the wait.

We spent the entire day at Kailua Beach, soaking up the sun and swimming in the ocean. The water was the perfect temperature, and the waves were just big enough to provide a little excitement without being too intimidating. It was pure bliss.

As the sun began to set, we decided to indulge in a local favorite - shaved ice from Island Snow. And let me just say, this wasn't your average sno-cone. No, this was a frozen masterpiece. With flavors like "Rainbow" and "Tiger's Blood," we couldn't resist trying a few different combinations. And trust us, they did not disappoint.

Now, I have to let you in on a little secret. I've been to Kailua Beach dozens of times over the years, and let me tell you, the internet has made a once-hidden gem VERY popular. But even with the crowds, it's still one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen.

So if you're planning a trip to Hawaii, make sure you add Lanikai and Kailua beaches to your list. And if you're lucky enough to be here right now, what are you waiting for? Grab some sushi, rent a car, and head on over. You won't regret it. Mahalo for reading, and until next time, aloha!
